What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a natural health care discipline that is based on the scientific foundation that the body is a self-regulating and self-healing organism.
Such important functions are controlled by the brain, spinal cord and nerves in the body. Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine and pelvis) and function (coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects one’s health.
The moving bones of the spine protect the communication pathways of the spinal cord and nerve roots. Therefore a loss of normal motion or position of these bones can irritate or impair the function of the nervous system.
A Chiropractor does not prescribe drugs or surgery but traditionally relies on a variety of manual therapies, helping restore the body’s biomechanics, to improve function and provide pain relief for patients.
The Chiropractic approach to health is to locate and help reduce interferences to your natural state of being healthy.
To achieve this our Chiropractors use a range of techniques including; Soft tissue work, Diversified, Activator methods, Thompson technique, Muscular skeletal dry needling, Sacro-occipital technique, Rehab therapy. They are also trained in assessing and fitting for Orthotics.
